3 Festive Winter Events This Holiday Season Right Near Prospector Ranch!

It’s December, and we’re already into the holiday season! There are lots of fun festive events, and today we want to talk about 3, all about within about a 2 hour drive from Prospector Ranch, so if you’re staying with us, they’re an easy activity for your itinerary.
It’s not the holiday season without lights. To get your fill of these, check out King Gillette Ranch in Calabasas! You can wander along the trail and experience the many holiday displays and lights that surround you. Along the trail there are many interactive photo moments where you can take unique pictures perfect for sharing with family and friends. If you get hungry or thirsty, There are snacks or drinks you can get to enjoy while walking along the trail. there is also a holiday bar, where alcoholic drinks are offered. On specific days, you can take free pictures with Santa, or hear classic Christmas songs sung by carolers as you stroll through the winter village scene. The event goes through December 27. 2. Wonderland and Marketplace Village
Happening on December 16, this event takes place in Ventura Harbor Village, from 12:00pm to 4:00pm. You can meet Santa Claus, meet two live reindeer, and interact with various holiday characters. Dickinson carolers will also be singing Christmas carols, and Lakeshore Learning will be hosting free crafting. In addition, a few businesses such as Barefoot Boutique and Ventura Pottery Gallery have a special holiday sale going on that day, and Ventura Boat Rentals have nighttime lit pedal boat rentals to end a festive day. Admission and parking are both free.
3. Ice Skating in Santa Monica!
Like ice skating under the night sky with lots of twinkling lights? Then you might want to check out the ice skating area at the corner of Arizona Avenue and 5th Street. It will be up through January 15. Ticket prices include skate rentals, and you can buy them online on their website. The time slots are an hour long. We recommend you dress warmly, especially if you get cold easily. However, you can also buy a pair of socks or gloves if you realize you need them.
As Christmas fast approaches, we hope you also take some time to slow down and enjoy the holiday season. Part of the beauty of Christmas is simply slowing down and remembering the reason for the season, after all.
