5 Spooky Fun Things to do Around Thousand Oaks This Halloween Season!

Fall is upon us here in Southern California! And Halloween is just around the corner….

Thousand Oaks and the surrounding areas have a lot of fun things to offer for people of all ages this Halloween season. Today, we have 5 ideas for fun activities to do when visiting here! Whether you’re in the mood to get scared out of your mind, or have a relaxing time while enjoying the fall atmosphere, there’s something for everyone. 

 
 

1. 2022 Reign of Terror Haunted House in Thousand Oaks

This haunted house is not for the faint of heart. Located at the Janss Marketplace mall off the 101 Freeway, it boasts a high attention to detail and terrifying special effects. The haunted house has multiple attractions, including the “Miner’s Revenge,” the “Victorian Haunted Mansion,” the “Asylum,” and many others. 

For one night only on November 5, the last day of the attraction, it will feature a special “Lights OUT” event where visitors will walk through all 130 rooms in total darkness, devoid of any lighting or special effects. 

 
 

2. Halloween at the Simi Valley Town Center

This event is free of the “getting-scared-right-out-of-your-mind”. People of all ages will enjoy this festive fall event. It’s happening on the 29th at the Simi Valley Town Center. There’s free kid bouncy houses from 10am to 10 pm, and Trick-Or-Treating from 4pm to 6pm. 

The Simi Valley Night Market is from 6pm to 10pm. You can try drinks, food, and listen to good music. 

 
 

3. Nights of the Jack Halloween Experience at King Gillette Ranch

You will be able to jump headfirst into a Halloween wonderland, where you will be able to see thousands of hand-carved Jack O’ Lanterns at King Gillette Ranch, located in Calabasas. The ranch is steeped in history, and you will be able to learn all about it while traversing the 2/3rds of a mile trail. 

Tickets are on sale now at nightsofthejack.com. 

They are $34.99 to $44.99 per person general admission. 

Children ages 2 and under are free. 

Parking is $9.99.

 
 

4. Pedals and Pints Brewing Company Halloweek

Pedals and Pints Brewing Company will be having its Halloweek from October 22 through October 29. There will be plenty of spooky-themed events during this time, such as the chance to listen to the music group Chasing Desolation when they kick things off on the 22nd, as well as a Pumpkin Fest, a Spooky Trivia night, and much more!

5. Trick or Treat Trail at The Lakes at Thousand Oaks

Located at the Lakes in Thousand Oaks, this event is fun for the whole family. Presented by Calabasas Mommy, the annual Trick-or-Treat Trail and Health & Education Pop-Up is on October 22, and goes from 10am to 2pm It has crafts, balloon creations, live music, a costume parade, and more!
