5 Valentine’s Day Date Ideas!

~ Natalia Radcliffe ~

Valentine’s Day. An excuse to spend time with that special someone in your life.

With the holiday just around the corner, we at Prospector Ranch want to give you some peaceful, romantic date ideas in Southern California to spend the holiday with that special someone.

Idea 1: Spend the Weekend at One of Our AirBnbs!

First and foremost, we at Prospector Ranch have 3 unique and comfortable AirBnbs for a romantic weekend getaway! As Valentine’s Day falls on a Friday, it makes the perfect excuse to turn a romantic day into a romantic weekend. We have a vintage 1972 Airstream, a rustic and luxurious Safari Tent, or an, honest-to-goodness realistic-looking Conestoga Covered wagon that you can choose from. The Airstream is pet friendly, so if you want to bring your furry family member along, you can!

Ideas 2 and 3: Places to Eat or Drink!

If you are in the mood for good food and drink, there are plenty of delicious restaurants, breweries, or wine tasting places you can check out. For example, if you are into fish and chips, there is a place right along the beach in Ventura, Andria’s, that sells the delicious meal. The view of the ocean is almost as good as the food!

If you are into wine tasting, Cornell Wine Co. located 5 minutes off of the 101 freeway between Malibu and Agoura hills might be a place to check out. Formerly known as Cornell Wineries, this place is a wine bar and store. With exception to the signature tasting they offer, everything else is first come first served.

For a more extensive list of recommended places to eat and drink, check out these previous blogs of ours for some inspiration.

Idea 4: Beach Stroll!

The beach is a great place to kick back, relax, and enjoy the peaceful and relaxing sounds that come with being near the ocean. There are many beaches located in Southern California, including places in Ventura, Malibu, and Santa Monica, just to name a few. Whether you are walking hand-in-hand making footsteps in the wet sand, or are sitting on the ground with the waves lapping at your feet, the beach can be an ideal (perfect) backdrop to a romantic outing. With the recent fires, we recommend you double check to make sure you can get to the beach you want to go to.

Idea 5: Hiking in Temperate Conditions

There are a plethora of hiking trails located near us in Southern California, with easy to expert difficulty, depending on what you are in the mood for. Some even go along the beach!

In a previous blog, we covered some hiking trails that we enjoy and recommend. Check it out as a starting point for some inspiration for planning your own day!
