A Thankful Month: Grateful for Our Guests
This November we have many things to be grateful for. Last week we expressed gratitude for our animals. But that isn't the only thing we are thankful for. We are also grateful for our treasured guests. Without them, we would not be in business. We have an eclectic bunch who visit here, from photographers and filmmakers, to Airbnb clients and Hipcampers. Our saloon on the property is a favorite venue of photographers and filmmakers, having been often used by past clients, such as Harper's Bizarre Singapore Magazine and Danny Trejo. The beautiful views from different parts of the property make for amazing scenes for those looking for locations to camp or to stay at our Airbnb.
We have lots of interesting guests who have visited Prospector Ranch. We’ve been fortunate to have several music videos shot here, and over the summer, we were the location of a Harper's Bizarre Singapore Magazine photoshoot featuring stars Maddie Ziegler and Eddie Benjamin.
Having been in the entertainment business for thirty years, Meggan is always happy to help the next generation who wants to pursue that field. Just recently, we had a group of about ten students from the nonprofit organization Ghetto Film School who came here to shoot a two minute film of theirs called Dead or Alive, a period piece that takes place in the 1800’s.
For those who come for camping or Airbnb, we get guests from all walks of life. Meggan always greets customers in the saloon and offers a welcome beverage. It's a cozy place to sit and get to know her guests, a warm welcome to Prospector Ranch. One of her past Hipcamper guests was a group of young men from Utah who visited California to surf. Over the course of the past year, using companies such as Hipcamp has really taken off, giving people an opportunity to take a relaxing vacation away from home during these trying times. We recently had a family with three little girls who brought their trailer to take a small staycation away from home, giving the girls another place to hang out.
With our Airbnb, a vintage 1972 airstream, we had a guest from Turkey who was traveling the United States with his wife and their baby. For a birthday present, his wife gave him a one night stay at the airstream.
Secluded away from the hustle and bustle of daily life seated up top a mountain with scenic views, the Airbnb is a popular spot for guests to relax and find some peace and quiet, as well as to enjoy beautiful sunsets. One of our Airbnb guests decided to propose to his girlfriend at sunset. He enlisted Meggan's help to get the photographer to the right vantage point to capture the happy moment with a vibrant, colorful sky as the backdrop.
Without our amazing guests, we would not be able to have a business. It's all thanks to those who come here for filming, photography, camping, or an Airbnb stay who make Prospector Ranch prosperous. We're so thankful for the opportunities to meet new people, and look forward to meeting even more in years to come.
