A Thankful Month Comes to a Close and a Merry One Begins

As the month of November comes to a conclusion and December begins, we're grateful for the temperate weather here in the Ventura County/Malibu area. Being so close to the beach has the benefits of a temperate climate, not getting too cold or too hot. Guests who visit get the perks of a nice, cool climate compared to other parts of California. This gives them the opportunity to partake in many outdoor activities, such as going to the beach, hiking, biking, as well as visiting different wineries or breweries.

Going into the winter season, it's nice to feel some semblance of cooler air. Being in a state that isn't known for its cold seasons, it's nice to visit the ranch and feel the crispness in the air, a figuratively warm welcome to the official start of the Christmas season.

Here at Prospector Ranch, we love to adorn the property for the Yuletide season, being avid Christmas lovers. Our property has some beautiful spots to take pictures. Our saloon is a highlight, popular with guests. For the Christmas season, we spruce it up with lights and colorful decorations to really bring out the Christmas spirit.

It doesn't take that long to decorate the saloon, only about half a day or so. Both the outside and inside are decorated. The outside is embellished with lights, as well as a few other pieces of Christmas décor. On the inside, we use Christmas decorations of warm reds and greens as well as lights to give the feel of a classic country Christmas. In the future, Meggan wants to find Christmas outfits for both her pony Jenny and her baby mule Curious George, so even they can get into the Christmas spirit.

The beginning of the Christmas season can bring mixed feelings of excitement and stress, as you contemplate all you want to accomplish. But, as we greet this merry month, let's also remember that sometimes it's the little things which really make Christmas special. Whether it's sipping a mug of hot chocolate by your fireplace, singing carols, or spending time with family and friends, it's the simple moments that can stay with you for years to come.
