Prospector Ranch Looks Back On 2021

With the end of the year coming up soon, we at Prospector Ranch take a minute to reflect upon 2021, and all the good things that have happened. We have a lot to be grateful for this year.

Just a few months ago, we partnered up with Arizona Hikeaholics and Cornell Wineries for a giveaway that included a stay at our 1970's vintage airstream and a VIP wine tasting for two at Cornell Wineries.

Thanks to the giveaway, our follower count almost doubled on Instagram, going from around 350 followers prior to the giveaway, to around 658 after the giveaway ended.

Not only are we happy about gaining new followers this year, we're also incredibly grateful for all our guests who visit, from campers and Airbnb customers, to photographers and those in the film industry. It's all thanks to them we can offer the services we do. We've had a lot of customers this year, including Harper's Bizarre Singapore Magazine and Ghetto Film School, just to name a few. We look forward to greeting new customers in the years to come.

Meggan is appreciative of her two sons, who help out. They aid her from time to time with special projects around the property, helping her keep up the place. She's also grateful for her husband Chris, who is always adding to and fixing things on the ranch. He's a constant support and is always willing to adopt animals into their family.

Recently, they took in a stray kitten they named Cleo. While Meggan was in Arizona visiting family, the kitten kept coming into the house Meggan was staying in. The feline would walk in as if she owned the place. She would jump on a chair in the bedroom and start grooming herself, as if she did this every day. She would be happy to eat anything that was given to her. At first, Meggan and her family would just give the cat some food and then lead the animal back outside, but this did not work. The feline kept coming back and coming back, doing this for three days. Finally, Meggan decided to adopt her. It was all but destiny at this point, with how attached the feline seemed to be toward her.

Cleo the kitty.

Currently seven months old, Cleo is an indoor and outdoor cat. Meggan presumes she lived on the streets for a while before being adopted into her family, as the feline is able to hunt for her own food. When Cleo first came to live with Meggan, she didn't get along with Meggan's two dogs, who loved that there was a new animal to chase. Cleo would often hiss at them, showing her disapproval. Eventually, things calmed down, as the smart kitty learned how to tame the excitable canines. Now, rather than the dogs wanting to chase her, she slides up to them, wanting to be chased on her own terms. She'll come up to them and purr, walking between their legs.

The stories just given are but a sample of all the good memories that have come from 2021 for us. Every year has its ups and downs. That will always be the case. As this year comes to a close, take a moment to remember the good things in your life. Yes, life won't always be easy all the time, but good memories can help us to more smoothly navigate the rougher waters of life.
