Prospector Ranch News! Grateful For All We Have Been Blessed With

~ Natalia Radcliffe ~

As Thanksgiving rolls around yet again, we at Prospector Ranch reflect on all the blessings we have received this year so far. The business is really taking off, and we are so excited to see where the future takes us!

What do we mean by the business taking off?

For one, we were featured in an episode of LA Unscripted, produced by the local KTLA news station! Thank you to everyone involved in the production! It was an honor having you out here, and we had a blast! If you want to see the episode we were featured in, KTLA posted it on their YouTube channel

This year, we also had some established influencers who visited!

For example, YouTuber Jordan Matter came to Prospector Ranch to film a challenge video for his channel! He had to tolerate 24 hours of living out in the middle of nowhere with a family who only spends a dollar a day. Our rustic ranch just a short drive from suburban Westlake Village and Thousand Oaks was the perfect location! We often forget how close we are to civilization because it is so peaceful and quiet out here.

We also had travel-based influencers Tyme and Andy come stay with us for a short time! During their stay, they filmed a video for their YouTube channel, starring the ranch.  They covered all three places you can stay in here at the ranch: our luxury Safari Tent, vintage Airstream, and Conestoga covered wagon. They ended up choosing to stay in the covered wagon for a night. To see the full video and the ranch in all of its beauty, check out their YouTube video!

We also had some events that were held at the ranch.

James Storehouse, a community-based nonprofit that provides support to children and youth in foster care, used Prospector Ranch as a venue for an event they did for foster kids and their families.

Fashion clothing company Carly Jeans had a photoshoot here! They were showing off their new line of blue jeans and other clothing. The rustic, wild west theme of the ranch was the perfect background to the photoshoot!

Dog rescue organization HIT Living Foundation, and clothing line Athletics MVMT also used the ranch as a photoshoot location this year. It was so fun to see so many adorable dogs and unique clothing!

In addition, one of our former team members, Asha, used the ranch as a location for a short film she worked on! The film is set to come out next year, and we’re very excited for her.

To top everything off, we want to end with a heartwarming and inspiring tale. Pastor Wilson Bugembe, one of the founders of Mercy Childcare and a good friend of Meggan’s, stopped by for a visit this fall. He, Meggan and her husband Chris went on a small camping trip to Malibu, along the beach, enjoying some rest and relaxation. It was a chance to take in a deep breath, slow down, smell the sea air, and be one with nature. During his visit, he also spoke and performed a song at Meggan’s church, Lighthouse Church in Newbury Park, thanking them for their generosity last year to his church the Worship House, showing them pictures of the finishing of the massive church for the community in Kampala, Uganda.Even though he did not ask for any donations during this visit, that did not make a difference to the congregation, as by the time he was leaving to go back to Uganda, the church had raised about $72,000 dollars to give to him to support the work he does, including for Mercy Childcare in Uganda.

It is heartening and inspiring to experience the generosity and goodwill of others. We feel so blessed and thankful to be part of such a caring, generous, community, and for our friendship with Pastor Bugembe.

This Thanksgiving, take a moment to breathe and reflect on what things you are thankful for in your life. There are so many beautiful moments and blessings in this world, but in the hustle and bustle of our daily life, they can get lost in the whirlwind.

We hope you have a good holiday!
