Happy St. Patrick’s Day From Prospector Ranch: Pubs You Can Visit That Are Near Here!

Happy March! It’s the third month into 2025, and the days are slowly getting warmer. This month heralds a couple of holidays, one of which is St. Patrick’s Day!

Did you know owner Meggan is part Irish?

She can trace part of her heritage to the town of County Kerry in Ireland, where her mother’s grandparents were from. She’s actually had the opportunity to visit the country before multiple times, including being able to visit the city of Dublin, and explore the country on horseback, being able to see gorgeous coast views and quaint village scenes.

What once was an Irish holiday more rooted in the Christian religion has turned into a more secular holiday here in the United States, a time for people to celebrate all things Irish culture. The first St. Patrick’s Day parade here in the United States was on March 17, 1772 when a group of homesick Irish soldiers serving in the English army decided to march in New York City to honor their country’s patron saint (who was Saint Patrick, credited with bringing Christianity to the Irish people).

Ever since then, it has slowly become a well-known and recognized holiday in the United States, even though it is not technically a federal holiday. In fact, most of the traditions we think of when celebrating St. Patrick’s Day did not come around until the early 1700s, such as the advent of the first St. Patrick’s Day parade in the 1770s.

If you are choosing to make a weekend out of the holiday, we have 3 ideas for pubs you can visit and celebrate at that are near Prospector Ranch, so you don’t have a long drive from one of our Airbnbs.

Tipsy Goat

Located in Thousand Oaks, this pub offers a variety of various kinds of alcoholic (and non alcoholic) drinks to sip on. To pair with your drink, it offers a variety of snacks and larger meals for you to munch on. For St. Patrick’s Day, guests get to experience seeing Irish dancing in person, listen to bagpipe music, get their face painted, and enjoy festive drinks.

Tarantula Hill Brewing Company

Located in Thousand Oaks, it offers a variety of craft beers to choose from. It also serves as a restaurant, where you can order food such as pizza, sandwiches, tacos, and burritos. For St. Patrick’s Day, they offer specials just for the holiday.

14 Cannons

Located in Westlake Village, it serves a variety of beers, brewed on site, such as Lagers, Ales and Hoppys. They also have snacks to munch on while enjoying your drink. They are also hosting St. Patrick’s Days festivities, including live music you can enjoy while basking in the experiences of good food, drink, and company.
