We’re Having a Fundraiser!

 ~ Natalia Radcliffe ~

It’s official!! On May 22, Prospector Ranch will be hosting a fundraiser for Children to Love, a charity based in the United States that helps people in need in Uganda, Ukraine, and other places. For this event, we’ll be raising money for those in need in the Ukraine as well as Mercy Childcare, a charity in Uganda that Children to Love works with.

The Children to Love Fundraiser, benefitting Children in the Ukraine and Uganda, will be on May 22 from 4-8 pm.

After two years of hard work, building and landscaping, we’re proud to premiere our venue for this fundraiser.

Sticking with the theme of Prospector Ranch, it’s Cowboy casual attire.

You’ll have the opportunity to hear first-hand accounts from those who have worked with Children to Love and Mercy Childcare, such as John Penrose (the president of Children to Love), Mary Akpovi, and a few other speakers.

There will be food to munch on, such as tacos and other bite-sized snacks.

There will also be a couple of booths where you can shop for some special items. The first you can browse handmade textiles and purses from Africa and meet Mary Akpovi, a giving woman who devotes her time to working with Mercy Childcare, as she will be running the booth. To learn a little more about her, you can read our previous blog story. Another booth will showcase candles and essential oils.

In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in a silent auction run by Michelle Perkins, where you could win prizes like a box of essential oils and sprays, a night at our Airstream, a one-day stay at our newly built covered wagon, or a dinner for four at Prospector Ranch, where you can enjoy a wood fire, handmade pizzas and a bottle of wine.

While at the event, you’ll enjoy some live music with indie performances of classic RB&B and original material by some talented artists, such as Randi Soyland and Shayleene MacReynolds. Mark Fonseca will also perform, as well as Meggan’s husband Chris Warme, who will be playing the drums. Meggan’s son Gavin Spamples will act as the DJ, as well as perform for one of the sets, being proficient at the guitar as well as other instruments.
